Arsenal Strength Teams up with the Lift Life Foundation: Firth High School

January 2016, Bodybuilding.com’s Lift Life Foundation and Make-A-Wish of Idaho teamed up to grant the wish of cancer patient and Firth High School student, Jared Andersen. Jared’s wish was to see his crumbling high school weight room in Firth, Idaho, transformed into a well-equipped, safe facility. While Jared remained quiet about his ongoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments to address the cancer in his left hand, the school weight room was his reprieve- a place to stay active and maintain focused on beating cancer.

After months of hard work, Firth High School’s new weight room was revealed to an incredibly grateful community. The official ribbon cutting ceremony and school wide assembly began at noon and was kicked off by Kirk Calzacorta, Bodybuilding.com Program Manager of Lift Life Foundation. He was joined by Julie Thomas, Make-a-Wish of Idaho Regional Manager, and Sarah Shinn, President and & CEO of Make-a-Wish of Idaho, who shared Jared’s emotional story with the audience.

The very, very best part of all of this, is that Jared is in remission. His most recent MRI and scans are all clear.”

-Julie Thomas, Regional Manager of Make-A-Wish Idaho
